ignore please.

This is a test of the Dreamwidth 'cut' system....

Enter your self into the world of changing posts, and inserting cuts.

That's right. I had imported my lj posts into this journal yesterday, and even found a journal style I like, successfully implementing it. I then attempted, unsuccessfully, to add a cut to my 12 Days post. That didn't go so well, so here is this attempt.

If it works, then the idea is to put the html-type tags "cut" and "/cut" around the text that is to be hidden behind the cut. How the leading text gets inserted, I don't yet know. Aha! It worked. So to recap: For Dreamwidth, use the "cut" tag around the text to be hidden, and then if you want to change the lead-in text from the default "Read more..." value, then the opening tag should be <cut text="...under the cut...">

I imagine that for LJ, it's just a matter of adding a little "lj-" before "cut", since that is what I'd first tried.

Actually, you should still be able to use the various lj-based coding in DW. I do a mix of both DW and LJ coding, and it all shows up just fine.

And welcome!
