It's beginning to look like Christmas with announcements of "Early Black Friday" sales starting to appear in mailboxes and Santas arriving at local malls this weekend. So the question on people's minds is who will get Miranda's name in the Secret Santa exchange this year?





I got a call from our lovely mod, grdnofevrythng, asking if I would organize our Second Annual Secret Santa exchange for the dvlwears_prada community this year. Of course I said yes, since who can resist a request by our mod?

Last year's Secret Santa Exchange produced a terrific batch of fic, songmixes, graphics and vids. Can we do it again?

And even though it's called the fic exchange, it's not limited to fic because we know there are many talented people in the community with gifts other than writing.

**How it works

Step 1. Respond to this post with your wishlist form between November 8th - November 15th at 11pm EST. Any type of created gift is acceptable to ask for: fanfic, banners, icons, wallpapers, videos, music mixes, etc. Commenting with a wishlist automatically means that you will have to be a Secret Santa  for someone else.

Step 2. During the week of November 16th - November 22nd you will be contacted and given the name of another member who also posted their wishlist. NOTE: Please do not reveal yourself to your Secret Santa recipient. This will only ruin the surprise.

Step 3. Kick your creative booty into gear, and get cracking on making a "present" for your Secret Santa. Should you have any questions for your Secret Santa, please email me, and I will post the question for you. Satisfying the entire wishlist is not necessary. Any contribution will be appreciated by your Secret Santa.

Step 4. The big reveal. Gifts are to be posted between December 24th and January 5th.

Step 5. If you are unable to complete your gift, please contact me. I will arrange a back-up gifter to complete your gift.

Step 6. After January 5th, I will do a gift round up, and ensure that those who have not received their gifts are granted a back-up Santa, and in turn receive gifts.

While we may ask for back-up Santas, if you know you won't have the time please don't feel obliged to answer yes. What I want: Fanfic!

--What I'd really, really like is a story that is simultaneously Miranda/Nigel and Andy/Nigel. I'd love to see an exploration of the idea of queer het sex. As you all know, I'm into Andy/Miranda, and I'd be perfectly happy if the story included parts where they pine away for each other in all of their OTP glory, but the actual sex should be happening between Miranda and Nigel (and Andy and Nigel)! Nigel is queer, Miranda is queer, Andy is queer, and they love each other in various ways. By all means, make it as fucked-up and awkward as you'd like, but I'd *much* prefer all the sex to be consensual.

If that seems like a little much, I'd also be happy with either of the following:

--An Emily/Miranda story that isn't about jealousy (on Emily or Miranda's part) over one Andy Sachs. In other words, an Emily/Miranda story that is about *them*. What are they to each other, both professionally and personally?

--A story about Miranda's current relationship with her family. A lot of stories use a childhood full of abuse and violence to "explain" Miranda's personality, but I'd love to see a really creative, fresh exploration of both Miranda's past and her current relationships with parents, siblings, her own children, etc. Miranda isn't a sweet person, but being power-hungry and incredibly particular doesn't necessarily mean a terrible family "made her this way." What does her family think of her career, her relationships, her lifestyle, her personality? Is she particularly close with any relatives? I'm not wedded to any pairing for this story--Andy/Miranda would be fine, but I'd also be fine with a single Miranda, or a Miranda who's dating someone else.

What I can do: I can write fic, and that's about it. In the past, I've only written Andy/Miranda. I'd be very happy doing that again, but I'd also be fine branching out. I don't want to write anything explicitly sexual about Stephen being paired with *anyone* though. And I'm not interested in writing a story that features Serena.

I will write happy or sad stories. Some of the stories I've written in the past have gotten classified as fluff and as angst, depending on the reviewer, so...I'm willing to experiment.

What I absolutely won't do: I won't write a Meryl Streep character paired with another Meryl Streep character. I won't write RPF. I'd prefer not to write any m/m pairings, and I'd prefer to write m/f pairings only in a secondary role to a f/f pairing (though I'm fine with writing both het and [fem]slash pairings in terms of general subject matter, I'm better at writing explicit f/f sex). I will not write any sex scenes involving dubious consent, or non-con.

Anything Else: Thanks very much for organizing this!

Are you willing to provide a backup contribution? Unfortunately, no. Life is hectic and I don't want to over-commit and end up disappointing anyone.
